Q. What is YBAA?
A. The Yacht Brokers Association of America, Inc. – YBAA - was founded in 1920 and exists to unite Yacht Sales Professionals throughout North America in order to: establish, promote and enforce high standards of professional competence, character and ethical conduct; foster public recognition of, and support for, YBAA and its member brokers; facilitate cooperation among member brokers; and, enhance each member's success.

Q. How may I become a member of YBAA?
A. YBAA has three types of membership:

After you have determined your membership type, complete the appropriate application form and submit it via email to Amy Luckado, YBAA Membership Director. The YBAA Membership Committee will then review your application and render a decision on acceptance within 5  to 7 business days, at which time you will be notified and, hopefully, welcomed into membership.


Q. How do I obtain my YBAA ‘Members Only’ username and password?
A. By default your username is the (your) email address that you provided to YBAA and your password is setup by you. If you’ve forgotten either one just click here and enter the email address that we have on file for you and you will receive your username and temporary password. After you log in with your temporary password you will be prompted to enter a new password (be sure to create one that you’ll be able to remember).

Q. What is CPYB?
A. Since 2000, the Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB) program has set the standard for Yacht Sales Professionals, distinguishing those yacht brokers who meet specific industry qualifications and who have successfully completed a rigorous three-hour exam. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA), Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA), Northwest Yacht Brokers Association (NYBA), California Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA), Boating Ontario Dealers, Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association (GCYBA) and British Columbia Yacht Brokers Association (BCYBA), over 550 Yacht Sales Professionals have earned the CPYB designation.

Q. How do I become CPYB certified?
A. CPYB brokers have met professional qualifications and have successfully passed a three-hour examination, testing their skills and knowledge as yacht sales professionals. If you are committed to professionalism and have what it takes, we invite you to apply.

Q. How can I earn recertification credits to maintain my CPYB designation?
A. You can earn re-certification credits by attending a variety of events and educational programs throughout the year, many of them offered by the CPYB sponsoring associations. We are constantly adding events so check back here frequently for a list of events and number of credits.

A. Members of YBAA can update their company information at anytime by clicking here.

Q. How do I access the YBAA logo to use in my promotions?
A. Members of YBAA have access to the new logo. Click here to view our logo use policy and download a print and web version of the logo.


Q. How do I add a new broker to my company’s membership roster?
A. Adding a new broker is easier than ever with the new YBAA website. Just click here to submit a form. The broker’s information will be added to our database and they will have access to the member’s only section of the website after one business day.
